Become a Market Maker
Market Makers are BOX Participants who assume the continuous quoting obligation on the option classes to which they have been assigned. Each market maker assigned to a class competes against the other market makers assigned to this same class. There is no Designated Primary Market Maker or Specialist on BOX; responsibilities and privileges are equal for all market makers in a given class as well as order matching priority (price and time). There is no pre-determined limit to the number of market makers in an individual class; however, temporary limits may be implemented while BOX adjusts messaging capacity in accordance with demand from Participants.
Only BOX Participants may officially be designated as BOX Market Makers; market maker status will not be accorded to a client of a Participant.
