Options Symbology Initiative
The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) launched the Options Symbology Initiative (OSI) to simplify the symbology of exchange-listed index and equity options and support long-term growth in the Options Industry.
The new symbology key will represent minimum data requirements in the transmission of listed option contracts between exchanges, the OCC and their constituents. Information in the key will include symbol, year, month, day, call/put indicator, strike dollar, and strike decimal.
The OSI Committee members recognize that the display of option contract information to end users may vary by organization as deemed appropriate.
