BOX - Boston Options Exchange

Test Environment

A fully-operational test environment is available for BOX Participants and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) wishing to develop and test the connectivity and functionality of their trading systems. Participants must simply obtain a telecommunications link to the test environment located in Montréal.

Test Environment Availability

The test environment is available each day during normal business hours, regardless of time zones. Arrangements can be made for Participants and ISVs operating outside the Eastern Standard Time (USA) zone (UTC-05) for specific adjustment of market phases on their reserved test instrument classes.

Test Environment Access

Access to the BOX Testing Environment is available through the following connection types:

  • VPN
  • ISDN or POTS dial-up
  • Third-party IP extranet providers
  • Leased line

BOX Participants and ISVs should select a connection based on specific technical and budgetary requirements in conjunction with their BOX Implementation Coordinator. Once selected, the connection is activated by the Participant or ISV filing a Test Environment Access Request Form provided in the test kit. A connectivity plan is then produced by BOX and the connection activated as soon as possible.
